Initial Qualification and Periodic Training

Initial Qualification

This qualification must be obtained by new LGV and PCV drivers alongside their vocational license. It consists of two parts: Part One – Case Studies, and Part Two – Vehicle Safety Demonstration.

Periodic Training

After passing your Initial Driver CPC, it is mandatory to undertake the Periodic Driver CPC to update your qualification. This 35-hour re-training course must be completed within 5 years, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Re-Training Driver CPC Course

To maintain your driver CPC licence, it is crucial not to repeat the same course within the 35 hours of periodic training over five years. At Action LGV PCV Training, we offer eight different CPC courses, ensuring that you can fulfil your training requirements without duplication and maximise the effectiveness of your training.

Drivers with Acquired Rights

If you obtained your vocational license before specific dates, you may have acquired rights, exempting you from the Driver CPC initial qualification. However, periodic training is still mandatory, and specific deadlines apply based on the type of vehicle and license you possess.
